Notes
Peptapon is an organic gum and binder that can be used almost the same way as CMC. Its gel isn't transparent like CMC gel; it is thicker at the same amount of water. Prepare as usual CMC preparation up to 45 gram in 1 liter of very hot water. Mix well using a mechanical mixer if possible, leave for a day and mix again.
Adding peptapon creates a hard glaze surface in high frit glazes, preventing powdering. It is also a suspender and improves the bond between dry glaze and the ware. Some people use a combination of peptapon and bentonite.
